'Bullying Powers'
Iran's president, speaking at the United Nations, says the "American empire" is reaching the end of its road.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the General Assembly that "a few bullying powers" are trying to prevent his country from having a peaceful nuclear program. The United States and its allies allege Iran wants to develop its uranium enrichment program to make nuclear weapons, while Tehran insists it's designed to produce electricity for civilian use.
Ahmadinejad also accused the U.S. and NATO of acting as aggressors in Iraq and Afghanistan. He claimed that the wars there were started "in order to win votes in elections." He said that 6 years after Saddam Hussein's regime was ousted in Iraq, "the occupiers are still there."
