Election 2008
RNC: First Lady Rouses Michigan Delegation
At a surprise breakfast appearance, Mrs. Bush urged the crowd to get out in support of John McCain this election season.
"I just wanted to make a brief stop-by and tell you all how important Michigan is to the McCain campaign," Mrs. Bush told the crowd. "I want you to feel the pressure of it, and go back home and work really hard. Because Michigan could be the Ohio of this election - you know, Michigan could be the state that carries the ticket for us, and carries the election for us."
Mrs. Bush says McCain has a personality that appeals to many Michigan voters.
Michigan is considered a battleground state this November because it has a relatively large number of voters who split their tickets.
