Assessing the Health of Presidents
ANN ARBOR, MI
(Michigan Radio) -
Senators John McCain and Barack Obama recently released their health records to the public. Presidents have not always been forthcoming with their medical information, just think about FDR, but two medical historians at the University of Michigan believe they've come up with a way to make sure the public gets a fair and accurate assessment of the health of the Commander in Chief.
Dr. Howard Markel is one of those historians, he is the director of the UM Center for the History of Medicine. His commentary is published in the June 4th edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association and he spoke with Michigan Radio's Charity Nebbe.
