Funding K-12 Education
ANN ARBOR, MI
(Michigan Radio) -
State lawmakers are discussing K-12 education spending this week.
Governor Granholm wants lawmakers to approve education spending and pension bills sooner rather than later.
The governor says school districts need to know soon how much per-pupil money they'll receive next fall from the state and how many teachers may opt for early retirement.
"The legislature must pass these retirement bills before they break for Easter," says Granholm, "Before they go on vacation, because the schools need certainty."
