The Power of a Promise ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - In 2005 a group of anonymous donors announced a program that would become the Kalamazoo Promise. The program offers college scholarships to every student who graduated from Kalamazoo Public Schools. Now this idea is spreading to other areas of the state. Last weekend the State of Michigan announced the creation of ten more "promise zones." Michelle Miller-Adams has studied the impact of the Kalamazoo Promise and has just published "The Power of a Promise: Education and economic Renewal in Kalamazoo."
