ACLU: Flint can't require drug tests for subsidized tenants
The executive director of the Flint Housing Commission has said he wants drug testing to be a lease condition for people who rent subsidized housing.
But the American Civil Liberties Union says that's unconstitutional.
Greg Gibbs is with the ACLU's Flint branch.
"What's unconstitutional is subjecting everyone, regardless of whether they're engaging in criminal behavior, to this kind of a test, to this kind of a search and this kind of a seizure," Gibbs says.
Gibbs says the ACLU will bring a class action suit against the housing commission if they enact a drug test policy.
