Bishop Demands Inquiry Into Embezzler Getting State Tax Credit
State Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop says he is calling for an inquiry into how the Michigan Economic Growth Authority awards business development tax credits.
He says Senate hearings will begin next week on how the authority awarded a nine million dollar credit to a convicted embezzler.
The state did not lose any money on the deal because he could not claim the credit until he created jobs.
Bishop says the Senate inquiry will include every credit package awarded by the state. © Copyright 2012, MPRN
