(Michigan Radio) -

The deal to sell the Pontiac Silverdome may be signed this week.

A Toronto developer was the winning bidder in a closed door auction for the Pontiac Silverdome over a month ago. The winning bid was just under 600 thousand dollars. But the sale is still not complete.

The sale has been the subject of two lawsuits, the second of which, an Oakland County judge knocked down last week. On Friday, the judge denied a request for an injunction to stop the sale.

In his ruling, Circuit Judge Edward Sosnick noted that the city of Pontiac faces a tremendous financial burden if the sale doesn't go through as planned by the end of the year.

Pontiac Emergency Financial Manager Fred Leeb says the ruling vindicates him and the process used to sell the Silverdome. Leeb says the sale may be finalized this week. It must be completed before the end of the year, or the city of Pontiac will need to take money from city departments to pay for upkeep of the 80 thousand seat stadium.
