Facing the Mortgage Crisis: When is Foreclosure Recommended? ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - Michigan Radio is taking part in a public broadcasting project called "Facing the Mortgage Crisis." We've been looking at what happens when someone goes into foreclosure, and what can be done to avoid it. Many organizations in Michigan and across the country offer financial advice and assistance to help people keep their homes. But we wondered is there ever a situation in which getting out of the home is the best option, financially? Perhaps if the person is in truly dire straits. Is foreclosure ever recommended? Robert Brokamp is a contributor to the Motley Fool, which aims to educate people about money and finances. Michigan Radio's Morning Edition host Christina Shockley spoke with him.
