Royal Shakespeare Company Lifts Curtain on Creative Process
ANN ARBOR, MI
(Michigan Radio) -
The Royal Shakespeare Company has performed numerous plays at the University of Michigan over the past decade. But this time, the acting troupe won't put on a show when it comes to town.
Instead, the RSC will do a "creative residency," where they'll use the time to develop 3 new plays.
U of M English Professor Ralph Williams says that means the public gets to see how the creative process works:
"Not at the point where one has already finished productions, but, in this case, where the scripts themselves are being formed."
The 3 plays will be performed in England next year.
The RSC will be at U of M March 20 - 30, 2010. Several events are open to the public. To see a complete list, click here.
