Let's Save Michigan DETROIT, MI (Associated Press) - A public outreach effort called Let's Save Michigan wants people to pledge to move the state in the right direction this year.

Let's Save Michigan organizers are listing six ways to support communities and improve the state on their Web site. They're asking people to make a commitment online to support one or more of the ideas.

Pledges include supporting the arts, going to festivals or cultural events and spending money at a locally owned businesses.

Let's Save Michigan, which started last fall, is supported by the Michigan Municipal League. It was begun in part to get people involved in debates over issues related to the state's economic future ahead of the 2010 elections. © Copyright 2012, Associated Press
