Governor Names Greg White to the Michigan Public Service Commission
Gov. Jennifer Granholm has named Greg White of Grand Rapids to the three-person Michigan Public Service Commission.
White currently is the commission's legislative liaison and has been with the agency for 22 years.
The governor's office said in a Friday release that White's term extended until July 2, 2015. He replaces Steven Transeth, who served two years after replacing outgoing commissioner J. Peter Lark.
Both White and Transeth are political independents.
Before joining the MPSC, White was associate director at Michigan State University's Institute of Public Utility Regulatory Research and Education and chairman of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners subcommittee on nuclear issues and waste disposal.
