GM and the Ren Cen: A History ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - Earlier this week the state of Michigan offered a package of tax credits to General Motors if company agrees to maintain its headquarters in the iconic Renaissance Center in Detroit. It would be a serious blow to the city if GM left the Ren Center, but the company's history with the building is not that long.
