DPS Handles Fallout from '94 Bond, Starts Work with New Bond
The testimony would be part of an investigation state-appointed manager Robert Bobb is conducting into how a 1994 construction bond was spent.
Meanwhile, Bobb is putting together a review team to make sure similar problems don't occur with the bond voters just approved.
Bobb says demolition is expected to begin this spring using money from the $500 million bond sale.
"And real construction late summer after school closes, particularly on those schools that are being modernized, and real construction on new schools probably in late summer of 2011," Bobb said.
The bond is expected to pay for building eight new schools, and renovating 10 others.

Lawyers for Detroit Public Schools are expected to be in court today to force people to testify about a series of questionable real estate deals.The testimony would be part of an investigation state-appointed manager Robert Bobb is conducting into how a 1994 construction bond was spent.
