Thanksgiving Travel ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) -

AAA Michigan predicts 1.2 million Michiganders plan to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday.

That's a slight increase over last year.

AAA spokeswoman Nancy Cain says most people say they will be driving long distances to visit family.

"More people are going to their destination by vehicle," says Cain, "Here in Michigan 80% of us will be going by vehicle, in our own car."

AAA predicts 38 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles during the Thanksgiving holiday. © Copyright 2012, Michigan Radio
