County Executive, House Speaker Court Chinese Business ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano is leading a trade mission to China.

This is the fifth time Ficano is taking a delegation to China to drum up business for Michigan.

Joining him this time is House Speaker Andy Dillon.

Ficano says the trips work - and points to 40 Chinese companies that have located in Wayne County.

"Sometimes on a first or second time that you meet a government or business leader, you may not immediately cinch a deal, but there is trust that is built up, and you have to continuously do that because they do depend on relationships," he says.

Ficano says China is looking for engineering and technology talent -- and Michigan has more engineers per capita than anywhere in the United States.
