New H1N1 Numbers Released
A majority of the swine-flu related school closings last month were in the Kalamazoo area. Now, they're mostly in the U.P. and the northwest part of the state.
That's according to the latest data from the Michigan Department of Community Health.
The department released some other numbers as well.
396 Michigan residents have been hospitalized since September first because of H1N1. 16 people have died from the virus. Most had underlying health conditions.
One number the state could not give out is the number of Michigan residents who have received H1N1 vaccines so far. Dr. Greg Holzman is the state's Chief Medical Executive:
"At this point we're just trying the best we can to get the vaccines out as quickly as possible and into the arms and noses of people" who need it.
