No Child Left Behind has been a controversial program, but the assumption behind it is widely accepted: American schools need to have higher standards so our children can compete in a global marketplace. That's an assumption that Yong Zhao believes is dangerous. He is a professor of education at Michigan State and author of Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization. He spoke with Michigan Radio's Charity Nebbe.
