No matter who you're talking to these days, it's only a matter of time before The Church of Scientology comes up. The subject may be in the same sentence as Tom Cruise, but unlike the film roster or public appearances of Tom Cruise, why does no one seem to know what Scientology is? The media has had a rocky relationship with the church and the reporters that write about it. But that may be starting to change. We talk with a writer about the media's history with Scientology and the what's is like to write about Scientology now.
