U of M's new football coach takes the reins
ANN ARBOR, MI
(Michigan Radio) -
The University of Michigan's new head football coach was officially introduced today in Ann Arbor.
Brady Hoke choked up with emotion as he tried to talk about how important being U of M's new head football coach is to him. Hoke says he would have accepted the Wolverine job, even if he had to walk to Ann Arbor from San Diego where's he been coaching the past two years. He spent 8 years as an assistant coach at U of M.
Hoke says he plans to bring a commitment to the tradition of Michigan football.
"We are all going to work for those players and student athletes," says Hoke, "I don't care if you're the manager who spots the ball, we're going to have a pride in who we are."
Hoke is taking over a football program that has struggled against its Big Ten rivals and has been cited for violating NCAA rules.
Details of Hoke's 6 year contract have not been released. © Copyright 2012, Michigan Radio
