Detroit Automakers Lead In Customer Satisfaction For First Time
That's the latest result from the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index.
It's the first time Detroit brands have led the customer satisfaction index.
Lincoln's score was the highest out of 20 brands. The brand got a score of 89, out of a possible 100.
GM's Buick brand was a close second, with a score of 88.
And GM's Cadillac brand also scored high, coming in fourth, or a score of 86, just after BMW.
University of Michigan researcher Claus Fornell is founder of the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
He says the results appear to reflect major changes in Detroit.
"Both Ford and General Motors are making money," says Fornell. "They're hiring more people, and I think the mood in general is probably optimistic."
But Chrysler's brands didn't do so well. Chrysler was in the bottom third, and Dodge and Jeep were the last two on the list.
