Michigan's Economy Shows Improvement ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - Michigan's economy is improving, according to a report from Comerica Bank's Michigan Economic Activity Index.

The index studies a variety of indicators, including auto production, steel production, and employment rates. Dana Johnson, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Comerica, says "It looks to us like an unusually sharp and encouraging increase in our index signaling that the economy is beginning to grow faster."

Johnson says improvement in the auto industry is boosting the state economy. He expects economic growth to continue in Michigan.
