Cox Designates "Special Assistant Attorney General" To Assist DPS Financial Manager
Bobb is investigating the potential misuse of 1994 DPS bond funds on suspect real estate deals. But some of the witnesses he's called to his investigative hearings have declined to participate.
Now, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is naming Darice Weber as a Special Assistant Attorney General to help Bobb. Weber has been representing Bobb in a lawsuit to compel witness testimony.
Cox and Bobb hope Weber's appointment will boost Bobb's efforts to force the reluctant witnesses to testify.
Bobb says the state law which was used to appoint him Emergency Financial Manager gives him the power to compel witness testimony and other information relevant to his investigation.
