Next Year's ArtPrize To Feature More Prizes
This year's ArtPrize featured more than 1,200 artists. And more than 30,000 people cast votes to decide the winner of the $250,000 top prize.
Now, ArtPrize organizers have announced the dates for next year's competition, which will be pretty much the same as this year with one extra day.
And ArtPrize founder Rick DeVos says he's hoping next year's ArtPrize will have more than one prize.
"We're really making an effort to open up the prizes this year so that other individuals and entities can sponsor their own prize," he says.
DeVos says the big $250,000 prize will still be there to attract artists. But he says separate smaller prizes will make it possible to reward different kinds of art.
