Seventeen Ways to Save the Planet ANN ARBOR, MI (Michigan Radio) - World leaders and Congress don't seem to be making much progress with plans to combat climate change, but if we Americans would hang our laundry out to dry and do sixteen other nice things for the environment we could decrease US carbon dioxide emissions by 7.4 percent by 2019. That is the conclusion of Thomas Dietz and a team of researchers at Michigan State University. Dietz is the director of the Environmental Science and Policy Program at MSU. He talked with Michigan Radio's Charity Nebbe.
