DPS Manager to Stay On Another Year
Governor Granholm hired Robert Bobb last March to put the district's finances in order. She says an additional year will give Bobb more time to do that.
"He has been, as we all know, fearless about making sure that DPS does not have waste or inefficiency or even fraud," Granholm said.
The school district still faces a deficit of about a quarter-billion dollars. And Bobb says there's still a lot of work to do on both the business and academic fronts.
The announcement comes just days before voters decide whether to approve a $500 million school construction bond.
