A New Survey Asks Local Government Officials About Budget Problems ANN ARBOR MI (Michigan Radio) - Local governments in Michigan are facing budget problems. As a result, officials say they'll need to cut services and lay-off workers. The Center for Local, State and Urban Policy at the University of Michigan surveyed local government officials across the state. Tom Ivacko is Program Manager at the Center. He spoke with Michigan Radio's Christina Shockley about what local officials are saying about the budget problem, the effects and potential solutions.
