Pro-Medical Marijuana Group Reacts to Obama's New Approach
The Justice Department will issue new policy guidelines on medical marijuana today.
Adam Brook is with the Wayne County chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.
Brook says he's pleased, but skeptical about Obama's statement.
"Upon his election, he said that California would be left alone, and they went in and did raids right away," Brook says. "So we appreciate the comments, but time will tell."
The new policy would be a big change from the Bush administration, which said it would enforce federal anti-pot laws regardless of state codes.
Michigan adopted its new medical marijuana laws in April.
