LANSING, MI
(MPRN) -
Michigan's jobless rate of 15.3% remains the highest in the nation. Michigan's jobless rate was almost flat from August to September. It rose just one-tenth of a percentage point. But the state posted the biggest number of job losses over that period -- almost 43 thousand. The U-S Bureau of Labor Statistics says 26 other states and the District of Columbia posted unemployment rate increases. Fourteen states and the District of Columbia have double-digit unemployment rates.
