Michigan's POW Camps

(Michigan Radio) -
President Obama wants to close the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The biggest thing standing in his way is that, as of right now, there is no place to send the prisoners. A number of high ranking Michigan officials, including Senator Carl Levin and Representative Bart Stupak believe an abandoned prison in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is where the prisoners should go. If it happens this wouldn't be the first time that prisoners captured in a far off conflict where housed in the UP. Michigan Radio's Charity Nebbe and Political Analyst Jack Lessenberry take a look back.
