(Michigan Radio) -

The fate of the Pontiac Silverdome may be sealed in the next month.

October 11th is the deadline for would-be buyers to submit bids for the 80 thousand seat stadium.

In the spring, Pontiac city leaders hired worldwide real estate company, C-B Richard Ellis, to market the 128 acre site.

As of last week, only one offer had been submitted.

An official with the marketing firm says the company is talking with several other potential buyers.

The Silverdome was the home for the Detroit Lions for 26 years, and the Detroit Pistons for a decade.

Since the Lions departed for Ford Field in 2002, the Silverdome has gone largely unused.

Its unclear whether developers would be interested in preserving the 32 year old stadium, or demolishing it to make way for an entirely different use.
