This U.S. composer established a distinctive American style with compositions such as this free of pretension, playful and energetic, sentimental and nostalgic celebrating the American folk song tradition.

Richard Strauss: Thus Spake Zarathustra, op. 30
From a primal beginning to an ambiguous conclusion, this epic and magnificent tone poem searches to understand the essence of life. The iconic work from the highly regarded romantic German composer tells us the answers are still out there.
