Man Returns From Doldrums (4:52) 2008-04-12
|
It sounds like a bad journey doesn't it? "Where are the doldrums Petey?" Nothing like planting a landscape or a garden in spring of the high desert to get you out of the horse latitudes.
The nifty bilingual field guide I pulled off my shelf is called "Pollinators of the Sonoran Desert" and was published by the
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, The Bee Works, and the International Sonoran Desert Alliance. It is a great beginners guide to pollinator gardens and has an excellent plant list you can take to your favorite nursery. Don't forget to plant something for those messy beetles.
Petey Mesquitey is KXCI's resident storyteller. Since 1992 Petey has delighted KXCI listeners with slide shows and poems, stories and songs about flora, fauna, family and the glory of living in southern Arizona.
