Readings from the book Crossing With The Virgin by the authors. The University of Arizona Press held panel discussions and a book fair at The Screening Room called Breaking Down the Border in conjunction with Artes Sin Fronteras/ Arts Without Borders. The month long festival coordinated by The Screening Room and Borderlands Theater also featured art exhibits, theater and movies.

30 Minutes features excerpts from co-authors Dr. Norma Price, Ted Parks and Kathryn Ferguson reading from their book Crossing With the Virgin: Stories From The Migrant Trail. The three authors are members of the humanitarian group Samaritans which as been a voice of compassion, a healing presence in the Arizona desert, and an interfaith ministry rendering humanitarian aid to migrants in distress in the Tucson sector of the Arizona/Mexico border Since July 1 2002.

Crossing With the Virgin is a collection of stories of migrants who were hoping to look for work or rejoin family members. The migrants shared their first hand accounts of their lives prior to crossing and their experiences on their journey north.
