The Pima County Task Force's responsibility is to educate the community about the juvenile justice system and the policies that impact our youth; ensuring that all stakeholders are held accountable for all system youth to become healthy productive members in their community.
At the reception, task force leaders spoke about the issues surrounding youth incarceration and steps that are being taken right here in Pima County. Speakers include Marcos Perez of the W. Haywood Burns Institute's Community Justice Network for Youth as Pima County's Community Task Force on Racial & Ethnic Disparities Coordinator; Malachi Larrabee-Garza, Director of the Community Justice Network for Youth at the W. Haywood Burns Institute; and Alisha Vasquez, a coordinator a Skrappy's Youth Collective and developer of Probation Pals Community Network.
