30 Minutes- 13 Humanitarians Arraigned
No More Deaths holds press conference to describe recent findings on Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge. 30 Minutes features excerpts from No More Deaths September 2nd press conference which provides an update on their case and negotiations with federal officials. Speakers include NMD member Reverend Gene LeFebvre, Samaritan and retired University of Arizona Professor Ed McCullough, Franciscan Father Jerry Zawada and NMD Sara Roberts, RN.

Last month, a federal magistrate sentenced Walter Staton to a year of unsupervised probation, 300 hours of community service picking up litter on public lands. He was also banned from BANWR for one year. Staton had been convicted by a federal jury of "knowingly littering" when he placed water on the refuge in December. No More Deaths sent a letter to Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge Manager Michael Hawkes and other federal officials including Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar requesting a meeting to discuss ways to work together to eliminate the death and suffering of migrants on the refuge.
