30 Minutes- In The Shadow of the Wall
Two University of Arizona Researchers share insights from their recent comprehensive bi-national report on deportees. As legislators consider immigration reform, local humanitarian rights group Derechos Humanos convened a community potluck to hear remarks from University of Arizona scholars on their new report entitled "In the Shadow of the Wall." This academic study has analyzed the experiences of deportees along the entire US Mexico border.

Two of the project leaders, Jeremy Slack and Daniel E. Martinez, were on hand to discuss findings of this comprehensive study such as the conditions and impacts of specific enforcement programs and how this enforcement is tearing apart families and failing to accomplish stated objectives.

The report has been featured in the New York Times, the Associated Press, USA Today, PBS, CNN, NPR and Al Jazeera among others and was recently presented before Congress. More information is available at:las.arizona.edu/mbcs.

Today on 30 Minutes Derechos Humanos director Kat Rodriguez introduces Daniel E Martinez and Jeremy Slack, presenting "In the Shadow of the Wall." This is part 1.
