30 Minute- Culture of Cruelty
No More Deaths Volunteer Daniella Alvarado discusses the report: Culture of Cruelty: Abuse and Impunity in Short-Term Border Patrol Custody. No More Deaths Volunteer Daniella Alvarado gives an overview of their new report: "Culture of Cruelty: Abuse and Impunity in Short-Term Border Patrol Custody." Daniella Alvarado spoke at a Coalicion de Derechos Humanos community potluck on October 21st.

A Culture of Cruelty is the culmination of three years of abuse documentation collected and carried out by No More Deaths and their partners in Naco, Agua Prieta, and Nogales, Sonora- border towns and cities through which thousands of immigration detainees have been deported.

The border humanitarian group No More Deaths released the report in September to call attention to abuse which they say is a result of systemic practices in Border Enforcement. No More Deaths believes that systemic abuse must be con- fronted aggressively at the institutional level, not denied or dis- missed as a series of aberrational incidents attributable to a few rogue agents.
