Last week, the University of Arizona hosted a memorial to honor the victims and to help heal the community. The national and international spotlight remain on Tucson one week after a gunman opened fire at a local Safeway killing six people and injuring thirteen, including Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords.

The victims have been laid to rest, many of the injured have returned home, and many stories of bravery have emerged. Tucson is also gaining notoriety as a place of healing, beauty and hope. A peace walk with 500 people took place earlier today. Impromptu memorials at the University Medical Center and Congresswoman Giffords' office continue to attract many visitors who bring candles, flowers, notes, and prayers.

Last week, the University of Arizona hosted a memorial to honor the victims and to help heal the community. Barack & Michelle Obama attended along with scores of local, state and national officials of both parties. 30 Minutes features excerpts from this historic memorial.

Speakers include Mexican-American Yaqui University of Arizona professor Carlos Gonzales; UA President Robert Shelton; UA student Daniel Hernandez, a Giffords intern who provided first aid to the congress woman after the shootings; President of the United States of America Barack Obama.
