A look at upcoming events sponsored by Access Tucson and the Coalition for African American Health and Wellness. 30 Minutes features and interview with Access Tucson Acting Executive Director Lisa Horner and Board President Bob Kovitz to discuss the state of Access Tucson and a couple of upcoming events. On Tuesday, September 7, Access Tucson will be hosting a Community Meeting at 6:00pm at the Access Tucson Studio A, 124 E. Broadway. On Thursday, September 9 at 6:00pm, Access Tucson will feature a 90 minute televised forum: Studio A Live: Core Services Tax.

In the second portion of 30 Minutes, Colette Marie Sims, Ph.D., a research associate in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Arizona, spoke about the upcoming People of Color Festival to take place on September 11 at the Northwest Neighborhood Center. The event is a project of the Coalition for African American Health and Wellness who seek to promote healthy living and improve the overall quality of life for African Americans and medically under served people in the Tucson community.
