César Chávez Day Programming 2010
KXCI celebrated the life and legacy of Arizona born human rights leader César Chávez with voices from the community. KXCI observed the legacy of César Chávez on March 31, 2010 by featuring brief interviews with local educators, community leaders, musicians and activists. Segments were woven into a blend of border music featuring selections from the United Farm Workers' movement, soulful sounds of that turbulent time period and contemporary socially relevant songs. The historical struggles of César Chávez are still relevant today and many people in our border community continue to be inspired by his work.
