30 Minutes: Dahr Jamail Part 2 Conclusion of remarks made by independent journalist Dahr Jamail. by Amanda Shauger Award winning independent journalist Dahr Jamail spoke at the Voices of Opposition series on November 17. Jamail is a 4th generation Lebanese American who was working as a mountaineering guide and writer based in Denali at the onset of the Iraq war.

Dissatisfied and outraged by both the war and its coverage, Jamail decided to travel to Iraq to report what was happening to the Iraqi people and United States soldiers. Jamail is the author of Beyond The Green Zone: Dispatches From an Unembedded Journalist In Occupied Iraq.
