The group says that despite the outstanding work of volunteers in border organizations, the number of migrant deaths on the border is on pace to be record setting. Border Net invites everyone to help however they can in reducing migrant deaths. Speakers include Attorney Margot Cowan, Former US Attorney Bates Butler, Dr. Norma Price of Samaritans and Rick Ufford Chase, immediate past moderator of the Presbyterian Church of America.
In the second portion of the show, 30 Minutes features excerpts from a protest in front of the State Building in Tucson on July 11 to oppose the recently signed HB 2779 which will be the toughest employer sanction law in the country. Speakers include attorney Isabel Garcia of Derechos Humanos, and Leilani Clark and Eduardo Quintana of the May 1 Coalition.
