San Francisco lawyer plans suit to stop Anheuser-Busch takeover

ST. LOUIS (St. Louis Public Radio) - A San Francisco antitrust lawyer is suing to stop InBev's impending $52 billion dollar takeover of Anheuser-Busch.

Attorney Joe Alioto says the deal will hurt beer drinkers by decreasing competition and increasing prices.

Neither company has commented on the litigation, but InBev has said it does not expect to run afoul of antitrust law. © Copyright 2009, St. Louis Public Radio
