Light and urban revitalization in Grand Center
(2008-09-04)
(St. Louis Public Radio) - This evening four outdoor art installations will light up around St. Louis' Grand Center.

"The Light Project" was inspired by a current exhibit at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts called "Dan Flavin: Constructed Light." However several other Grand Center art institutions pitched in.

The four artists who took part in the first-ever outdoor exhibit for the Pulitzer not only play with the notion of light, but also the idea of urban revitalization.

As KWMU's Maria Hickey discovered their lofty goal is to illuminate the possibilities of an area on the edge of urban decay.
