Cole Co. judge rules for Gov. Blunt in email suit
Fisher is seeking copies of deleted emails from Blunt's office.
John Fougere is Nixon's Press Secretary.
"We remain committed to ensuring that all public documents are open and available, and as such we are reviewing the order, and will make sure the independent investigative team has all the legal tools needed to accomplish this important work," Fougere said.
The order, however, has been stayed for 10 days.
That gives Nixon time to join the lawsuit himself, appoint a Special Assistant Attorney General to prosecute the suit, or file an amended petition that could give Fisher or another investigator the proper legal standing. Otherwise, the suit will be dismissed.
Meanwhile, Callahan has not yet decided whether to allow the Associated Press, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch or the Kansas City Star to join the lawsuit. © Copyright 2009, St. Louis Public Radio
