(2005-06-14)

(St. Louis Public Radio) - The St. Louis Port Authority unanimously voted on Tuesday to allow the President Casino on the Admiral to be replaced.

The new casino being proposed will be between the Eads and Martin Luther King bridge.

Columbia Sussex wants its new casino to be farther away from a competing casino that Pinnacle Entertainment is set to build on Laclede's Landing.

St. Louis City aldermen must still approve the project.

The casino will be owned by Columbia Sussex, which already owns a garage and some land by the riverfront. © Copyright 2009, St. Louis Public Radio
