On the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark expedition, an event tonight at the Houston Museum of Natural Science will honor Native Americans' contribution to making that historic journey happen.
As Jim Bell reports, the Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring tonight's museum event, which includes the IMAX film, Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West, dinner and access to the museum. Chairperson Jill Brooks says it is dedicated to Native Americans because the expedition could not have happened without them.
The event will begin with a Native American blessing and dances by members of the Alabama Coushatta Tribe of East Texas. Brooks says proceeds will benefit education programs for Native Americans.
Brooks says tickets cost $35 each and they are available at the museum.
