Heirloom veggies featured at Missouri Botanical Garden
(2009-07-03)
(St. Louis Public Radio) - In honor of the Missouri Botanical Garden's 150th anniversary, the Garden has planted some vegetables with a history.
Heirloom veggies that trace all the way back to founder Henry Shaw's own kitchen garden are on display through this summer.

June Hutson is the supervisor of the Kemper Center for Home Gardening and spent months tracking down the seeds.

KWMU's Maria Altman took a tour of the garden with Hutson, who began by explaining just what an heirloom is.
