Ameren To Lower Natural Gas Prices
(2009-02-23)
(wsiu) - Due to a weak global demand for energy, Ameren Utility Company will lower the cost of natural gas in March. Prices from AmerenCIPS will drop by 19 percent. Ameren urges customers to enroll in the Budget Billing plan which allows customers to pay the same amount each month. Customers pay an average monthly bill based on the last 12 months of use which is reviewed to adjust the billing accordingly.
Customers are also encouraged to adopt energy efficiency and conservation practices, which allow them to pay less money by using less energy. Little things such as setting thermostats a little lower can reduce heating costs by two to three percent. Ceiling fans and other circulating fans can be used to stir up warm air from ceilings.
Ameren Illinois Utilities delivers energy to one point two million electric and more than 840 thousand natural gas customers in one thousand communities. Customers interested in enrolling in Budget Billing can do so by calling 888-789-2477. A detailed list of energy efficiency and conservation suggestions is available on www.ActOnEnergy.com.
